The Iraqi Army’s 9th division moved into the village of Umarkan, about 30 kilometres (18 miles) southeast of Mosul, on Saturday, the country’s defence ministry said. Footage provided by the Iraqi Ministry of Defence shows helicopters firing rockets at the village, as armoured vehicles and soldiers move closer and a gun battle unfolds.
