Despite Crown’s ‘contradicted’ case, Oland’s lawyers made no application for directed verdict

New Brunswick Court of Appeal Chief Justice Ernest Drapeau questioned the lawyer of Dennis Oland, Alan Gold, why he didn’t call for a directed verdict at the conclusion of the trial if he believed the Crown’s theory of guilt was weak.
