Sat, Oct 8: Hurricane Matthew continues to plow up the Atlantic coast, hitting South Carolina with winds of almost 100 kilometres an hour this morning. The storm killed at least four people in Florida and knocked out power to more than one-million homes and businesses, but that pales in comparison to the destruction and loss of life in Haiti. The official death toll is about 300, but there are reports Matthew killed more than 800 on the island.
