Members of the Penticton Indian Band held a candlelight vigil Tuesday for Sisters in Spirit day.
They remembered 42-year-old Diane Stewart who was murdered 20 years ago on the reserve, her remains found five months after she went missing. Her murder remains unsolved.
The national vigil honours murdered and missing aboriginal women.
The Penticton Indian Band believes only when women are part of their governance process will the community begin to heal.
