Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump was in Colorado on Monday where he told his supporters that he “understands the tax laws” and has paid “no more tax than is legally required” of him. Or, Trump added, he paid “as little tax as legally possible.” His comments come after a New York Times report suggested the presidential nominee could have gotten away with not paying federal income taxes for 18 years.
