Tue, Sep 6: It’s back to school and back to rushed mornings when parents do their best to help get their children to school on time and safely. Child pedestrians are more likely to be severely or fatally injured when struck by cars compared with adult pedestrians, so it’s understandable that some parents might be uneasy about letting their kids walk to school. But according to ongoing research out of Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children, walking to school is the best choice providing the route is safe. Melanie Zettler has more on the story.
