Sun, Jul 24: South Africa’s great white shark population is heading for possible extinction. That’s according to a six-year-study, the largest of its kind, which revealed a rapid decline in numbers. The researchers also found many surviving sharks are no longer capable of breeding, making them particularly vulnerable to extinction. But a group of divers and marine biologists has developed a new conservation method. Jeff Semple reports.
