Turkey’s government working to crush a military coup after night of chaos that left 17 dead

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told the nation that his government was working to crush a coup attempt that he called “a gift from god.” His remarks came after a night of explosions, air battles and gunfire that left at least 17 dead and scores wounded in a country under martial law.
