A teenage girl from Ohio died from a very rare brain eating amoeba believed to to have been contracted while visiting the U.S. National White Water Center in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Dr. Marcus Plescia, Mecklenburg County Health Director, made the announcement during a press conference Wednesday.
