The Canadian federal government will be giving an advance payment of approximately $300 million to Alberta to help with the recovery efforts of the Fort McMurray wildfire. In addition the province’s municipal affairs minister said “the governments of Canada and Alberta will match donations made by individuals to the Canadian Red Cross.”
