While Iraqi special forces positioned in the southern outskirts of Fallujah halted their military campaign on Thursday, June 2, Shiite militias continued to consolidate control over the al-Saqlawiyah area, located along the city’s northwestern outskirts. Heavy clashes were reported between Islamic State fighters, the Hezbollah Brigades, and the Badr Brigades, leading to the death and capture of several IS fighters.
