Supreme Court rules Metis, non-status Indians under federal jurisdiction

Thu, Apr 14: The Supreme Court of Canada has ruled Metis and non-status Indians are under federal government jurisdiction. It may sound procedural, but it’s a huge win for more than 600,000 people, giving them the same access, benefits and legal rights as those with status. Jennifer Tryon explains.
