Assembly of First Nations National Chief Perry Bellegarde reacted Monday to the state of emergency declared in Attawapiskat, saying that he is ‘grateful’ for the support the Ontario and federal governments are offering, but says there needs to be a long-term approach laid out to have lasting effects.
