Human rights activist Sally Armstrong on the status of women in 2016

Historically speaking, it wasn’t that long ago women were unable to vote because they weren’t considered “qualified persons,” according to our constitution. Fortunately, five strong spirited women set out to change that mindset and their work continues today through valued organizations like the Famous Five Foundation. Activist Sally Armstrong will be speaking at their Enbridge Famous 5 speaker series event Tuesday evening, and joined the Morning News to talk about her work around the globe, and why women’s rights still have a long way to go.
