PHAC suggests people avoid pistachios if country of origin unknown amid salmonella outbreak

April Hexemer, director of the Public Health Agency of Canada’s outbreak management division, said Wednesday that Canadians should avoid pistachio and pistachio-containing products if they can’t confirm the product is from Iran due to a salmonella outbreak linked to Iranian pistachios and pistachio-containing products.
