At a press conference on Friday, Pierre Poilievre accused Prime Minister Mark Carney of breaking fiscal promises and delivering what he called a “costly credit-card budget.” Poilievre pointed to a new Parliamentary Budget Officer report, saying it shows deficits doubling and day-to-day spending being “cooked” as investment. He argued the plan will mean higher grocery and housing bills now, and higher taxes later. Poilievre said Conservatives will push for what he called affordable budgets and an affordable life for Canadians.
