A couple from North Carolina lost everything in September of last year when floodwaters from Hurricane Helene filled their home. They lost everything, including their 7-year-old cat, Bootsy, or so they thought. Then, suddenly, after a year, they heard her meow. Her owners believe she may have been trapped on the other side of the creek and couldn’t return home until recently, when crews completed rebuilding a nearby bridge.
