Protests erupted at a Paris department store on Wednesday, as the fast-fashion retailer Shein opened its first brick-and-mortar store in the city amid fierce criticism of its low-cost business model. France also moved to ban Shein’s online marketplace on Wednesday after its consumer watchdog said weapons and childlike sex dolls were being sold on the site.
