N.B. advocate slams education budget process, calls for accountability

New Brunswick Child and Youth Advocate Kelly Lamrock is criticizing the province’s handling of a $43-million education budget directive. In a new report, he says the cuts were ordered without understanding their impact on classrooms and only covered mandated costs. Lamrock is calling for greater district accountability and a renewed focus on basic student needs in the upcoming 10-year education plan. Anna Mandin reports.
