At a press conference on Thursday, Saskatchewan officials said up to 15,000 people have been evacuated from more than 30 communities due to out-of-control wildfires. Steve Roberts, Vice President of Operations at the SPSA, said several fires have damaged infrastructure, cutting off power and communication in northern areas. Crews are battling the Shoe Fire now over 471,000 hectares with reinforcements arriving from across Canada and the U.S.
