U.S. President Donald Trump “respected Canada’s sovereignty today”, both privately and publicly, revealed Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney after speaking to the U.S. president over the phone on Friday.
This was the first time the leaders spoke since the election of Carney as prime minister, after the White House requested the call the day before.
