A 20-year-old man is suffering serious life-altering injuries after he tried to help other drivers involved in a nine-vehicle collision in the Udora/Uxbridge area on Tuesday. Police say cars heading south on Regional Road 1 near Fowlers Road were met with blowing snow and whiteout conditions. When one vehicle slowed down, it was hit from behind, causing a chain reaction of crashes. Police say the 20-year-old man had left his car and was struck by a pickup truck that pinned him to a snowbank. He was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre. Multiple other drivers were also sent to hospital with minor injuries.
