Some health practitioners in the East Kootenay are scratching their heads, trying to figure out why their region was cut out of a provincial program meant to keep doctors and nurses in regional centres. In the fall, the province added 56 communities to what’s called the Provincial Rural Retention Incentive. But as Grace Ke reports, Cranbrook and Kimberley didn’t make the list.
