Cave explorer Ottavia Piana, who was trapped in the Bueno Fonteno cave in Italy, was successfully rescued early on Wednesday, according to the Alpine Rescue team. The 32-year-old fell eight metres into an unexplored section of the cave late on Sunday, sustaining multiple injuries, including vertebral and rib traumas, facial fractures, and a knee wound. She has since been airlifted to Bergamo hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
