Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke at a Liberal holiday party Monday night following the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland earlier Monday. “It was an eventful day and not an easy day,” Trudeau said as he began his speech. After he was called to resign by NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh and was asked to call a confidence vote by Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, Trudeau seemingly remained steadfast in his position.
