Canada’s Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland spoke to reporters on Wednesday after the second meeting of a Canada-U.S. Cabinet committee. When the topic of the Canada-U.S. border arose and the possibility of an influx of migrants entering Canada from the United States, Freeland said “We take border security absolutely seriously… We will ensure that Canada’s borders are secure and that we have the necessary resources to ensure that they’re secure.”
