Local academy installs silk poppies at Calgary’s Field of Crosses

Delta West Academy in Calgary continued its annual tradition on Sunday, installing thousands of silk poppies at the Field of Crosses memorial. The poppies honour local fallen soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. Educators say the initiative helps students learn more about the history by seeing the names in person rather than reading about them in a textbook.
