Asked about Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre’s recent statements that he is in favour of involuntary drug treatment and psychiatric treatment for kids and prisoners, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland said a “science-based” and compassionate approach to treatment is needed. However, she said “sometimes people are too sick to really recognize what treatment they need.”
