North Korea’s army has vowed to cut off road and railway links between North and South Korea, starting Wednesday. A statement from the organization says this comes as a response to war exercises that were held in the “the primary hostile state” of South Korea — the North’s “invariable principal enemy.” North Korea installed landmines and barriers along the border in the months prior, according to South Korea’s military.
