As the weather begins to cool in Edmonton, the risk of frostbite and even death increases for stray animals. Local animal advocates are doing everything they can to help, but they’re inundated by calls to take in homeless or injured animals. A recent incident involving cats left in a box, captured on video, highlighting just how desperate the situation is. Leigh Melligan with the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society, also known as AARCS, joined Global News at Noon to speak about how people can help.
