House Speaker Greg Fergus indicated during question period on Thursday that he docked three questions from Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre as a penalty, after Poilievre declined to withdraw comments from a heated House of Commons exchange last week. NDP MP Heather McPherson also raised concern regarding a controversial comment made by a Conservative MP during Wednesday’s question period, which Conservative MP Garnett Genuis responded to say that the point of the comment “had nothing to do with sex.”
