In the U.S., a Missouri man convicted of breaking into a woman’s home and repeatedly stabbing her was executed by lethal injection, over the objections of the victim’s family and even the prosecutor. They wanted the death sentence commuted to life in prison, and had worked for years to spare the man’s life. Jackson Proskow reports.
