‘Too many Canadian jobs were at stake’: Trudeau explains decision to force binding arbitration amid rail dispute

As a rail stoppage impacting Canada’s two largest railways came to an end, Trudeau said on Monday that it was necessary for the federal government to step in because “too many Canadian jobs and livelihoods were at stake.” He said, however, that his government is committed to collective bargaining.
