More than one million medical workers in India took to the streets on Saturday as part of a 24-hour strike, ignited by the anger over the rape and murder of a female doctor last week at a medical college in Kolkata. The 31-year-old victim was a trainee doctor, and according to her father, went missing for at least seven hours without query from other staff.
