Off-duty firefighter rescues woman who fell into river in Minden: OPP

Haliburton Highlands OPP say an off-duty firefighter is being credited with helping to save a woman who fell into the Gull River in Minden on Thursday.
OPP say the incident happened around 1 p.m. as a retired police officer called in the incident.
When crews arrived on scene at the Minden Wild Water Preserve and Rapids, they learned an off-duty firefighter who was kayaking followed the woman as she flowed downstream. She was able to grab some branches and he eventually reached her and brought her to shore.
