On the second day of a scorching heat wave, over 1,000 people, including those living in a West Island seniors’ residence, were without power including air conditioning for more than six hours. This, after Hydro-Québec refused to cancel a scheduled power outage for maintenance work. As Global’s Felicia Parrillo reports, the seniors’ home banded together to ensure everyone remained cool until power was restored.
