Thailand to be 1st Southeast Asian country to recognize same-sex marriage

Thailand’s Senate officially passed a landmark marriage equality law on Tuesday, making it the first Southeast Asian country to recognize same-sex marriage. After more than two decades of advocacy from activists and politicians, the bill has finally been approved, marking a significant step forward for equality and LGBTQ+ rights in the region.
