B.C. sets new minimum wage for gig economy workers

App-based ride-hailing and food delivery workers in B.C. will soon be covered by new minimum wage measures and workers’ compensation.
The regulations are being touted as a first in Canada and take effect September 3rd. but there are concerns over whether they’ll help or hurt the province’s so-called “gig” economy.
With more on that we are joined by Brice Sopher who is the president of Gig Workers United.
