Some West Island mayors holding their breath over new Quebec flood zone maps

Three times more homes across the province could be considered at risk of flooding when Quebec’s new maps are completed in the fall of 2025. The provincial government’s draft regulations for flood zones was unveiled on Tuesday and are getting mixed reviews. While some point out that it is a step in the right direction, others decry what they see as lack of consultation and raise concerns over the potential effects on property values.
