Tensions between Hezbollah and Israel escalated on Wednesday as Hezbollah fired rockets at northern Israeli towns in apparent retaliation for an Israeli strike that killed a senior Hezbollah field commander. The Israeli strike in south Lebanon resulted in the death of three Hezbollah fighters, including the senior field commander, identified as Taleb Abdallah. In response, Hezbollah launched around 50 rockets from southern Lebanon into the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
