Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland said Sunday that changes to taxation of capital gains would be introduced on Monday, resulting in a “small number of well-off Canadians” paying more taxes on investments. Freeland added that the tax reform would be an “important moment for Canadian democracy” as it would allow Canadians to see “what each of their members of Parliament believes and stands for.”
