Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland was asked Sunday about speculation by some experts who say they expect the Bank of Canada to drop interest rates as early as next week. “We’ve recognized the importance of fiscal responsibility in helping to create conditions so that inflation can come down,” Freeland responded, pointing out that inflation has fallen within the Bank of Canada’s target range for the past four months.
