Global News at 6 Toronto: May 12, 2024

A homicide investigation is underway after an assault took place downtown on Sunday morning. Toronto Police are searching for the suspect, who purportedly slashed the neck of a 50-year-old victim. It’s the second violent death in the area in less than a month. Ten days into their encampment, pro-Palestinian demonstrators met with UofT administrators Sunday afternoon, as their tents continue to cover part of campus. Alumni are now threatening to tear up their diplomas if the institution does not divest all ties with Israel. And, Global News has learned the fourth suspect arrested in the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar was allegedly one of two gunmen who shot the B.C. Sikh leader outside a Sikh temple last June.
