Speaking during a press conference in Ottawa on Friday, Minister of Public Safety Dominic LeBlanc reiterated Trudeau’s statement and said that is was important to work together to “uphold Canadian trust in our democratic institutions” as countries around the world grapple with foreign interference threats. LeBlanc also added that the feds have been working to ensure that intelligence and information sharing of highly sensitive data is improved for the future, which he says requires a series of “very rigorous protocols” for security purposes.
