Speaking at a press conference on Friday, April 26, 2024, Premier David Eby announced the B.C. government will move to restrict illicit drug use in public places such as parks, inside hospitals and transit. The province has formally asked Ottawa to amend the exemptions to B.C.’s decriminalization pilot works under to enforce the ban.
