On Monday, Meewasin Valley Authority (MVA) CEO Andrea Lafond said that volunteers have already cleared a significant amount of trash from the riverbank and surrounding greenspaces. Lafond said in 2023 volunteers managed to gather 1100 kilograms of garbage from the Meewasin Valley.
