Sudan civil war: WHO warns ‘time is running out’ as conflict reaches 1-year mark

As the military conflict in Sudan enters its second year on Monday, there has been a flurry of funding and aid promises ahead of that grim milestone — but humanitarian agencies say it’ll take a lot more to stop the fighting and bring Sudan back from the brink of collapse. “Time is running out. Without a stop to the fighting and unhindered access to the delivery of humanitarian aid, Sudan’s crisis will dramatically worsen in the months to come and could impact the whole region,” said World Health Organization (WHO) spokesperson Christian Lindmeier.
