Bears have emerged from their winter dens along the Canadian Rockies in Alberta, including two of Banff National Park’s most famous grizzlies. A local filmmaker was able to catch a glimpse of one of them, but he also caught its incredibly close call with a moving train. As Heather Yourex-West explains, it highlights a long-standing threat to the safety of these majestic animals.
