Israel is blaming serious errors and breaches of procedures for the attack that killed seven humanitarian workers, including a dual Canadian-American citizen, in Gaza on Monday. The Israeli military has disciplined at least three officers for their roles in the strikes. Accusations are growing that Israel isn’t doing enough to protect civilians. The deaths of the seven World Central Kitchen workers have sent a chill through the humanitarian aid community. Many organizations are re-evaluating their plans and work in the region. It’s unknown how they will respond to the sudden daytime darkness, which is why a zoo in Quebec is closing its doors on Monday.
