A Florida judge overseeing the case involving former U.S. president Donald Trump’s classified documents has dismissed the request from his lawyers to dismiss the case based on the Presidential Records Act. In the ruling, Judge Aileen Cannon wrote that the act “does not provide a pre-trial basis to dismiss,” leaving the defence available as an option for Trump’s legal team at trial.
